Out this week: Hellboy II The Golden Army-
(Shot from HELLBOY II: THE GOLDEN ARMY)
Online since: February 20th, 2006

The gang is back in town. And this time around, they're going to have their
hands full fighting monsters and other ungodly creatures that go bump in
the night. I'm sure you've seen Hellboy's appearance on TV at least once or
twice lately, because lets face it, he's all over the damn place.
Commercials, magazines, the internet, toy shelves and even on video
games. It's hard to miss Red. HELLBOY II: THE GOLDEN ARMY will be hitting
theatres everywhere this Friday. Being fans of the original we have high
hopes for the sequel. Especially after reading all the positive reviews. It
seems as though Guillermo del Toro is putting out all the stops for this one.
He's taking everything he learned from PAN'S LABYRINTH and putting it into
this movie. It looks visually stunning and magnificent. We'll see whether or
not Hellboy is even better the second time around. Just be sure not to
wake up the baby.
With a signature blend of actions, humor an character-based spectacle,
the saga of the worlds toughest, kitten-loving hero from Hell continues to
unfold in HELLBOY 2: THE GOLDEN ARMY. Bigger muscle, badder weapons
and more ungodly villains arrive in an epic vision of imagination from Oscar
nominated director Guillermo del Toro (Pan's Labyrinth, Hellboy). After an
ancient truce existing between humankind and the invisible realm of the
fantastic is broken, hell on Earth is ready to erupt. A ruthless leader who
treads the world above and the one below defies his bloodline and awakens
an unstoppable army of creatures. Now, it's up to the planet's toughest,
roughest superhero to battle the merciless dictator and his marauders.
He may be red. He may be homed. He may be misunderstood. But when you
need the job done right, it's time to call in Hellboy (Ron Perlman). Along
with his expanding team in the Bureau for Paranormal Research and
Defence-pyrokinetic girlfriend Liz (Selma Blair), aquatic empath Abe (Doug
Jones) and protoplasmic mystic Johann-the PRRD will travel between the
surface strata and the unseen magical one, where creatures of fantasy
become corporeal. And Hellboy, a creature of two worlds who's accepted
by neither, must choose between the life he knows and an unknown
destiny that beckons him. Directed by Guillermo del Toro, the film also stars
David Hyde-Pierce, Jeffrey Tambor and Luke Goss.
