According to the wonderful world of Fangoria, Rob Schmidt will be directing a new movie
called THE ALPHABET KILLER. Based on a true, still-unsolved case from the 1970s in
Rochester, NY, where someone slew a series of girls with the same first and last initial, the
movie is set to begin shooting this fall.
“THE ALPHABET KILLER illustrates the obsessive
work of solving an organized series of sex murders and the damage that work inflicts on
our heroine,”
Schmidt says. “It’s romantic, tragic and scary as hell.” In addition, the
ALPHABET production team (also consisting of Aimee Schoof, Isen Robbins and Russ
Terlecki) has signed on casting directors Nancy Nayor and Kelly Wagner, whose credits
include THE GRUDGE, HOSTEL and THE EXORCISM OF EMILY ROSE.
