The official poster for the FUNNY GAMES remake has appeared online. In this exploration of
our violent society and how depictions of violence reflect and shape our culture, director
Michael Haneke retells the story through the eyes of middle-class housewife Anna (Naomi
Watts) of how she and her husband George (Tim Roth) and their 10-year-old son Georgie
(Devon Gearhart) submitted both physically and mentally to the torture, violence, and
death foisted upon them by two young, unexpected, white-gloved visitors at their
weekend vacation retreat near a lake. Written and directed by Michael Haneke, the film
stars Naomi Watts, Michael Pitt, Tim Roth, Brady Corbet, Siobhan Fallon, Boyd Gaines,
Devon Gearhart, Robert LuPone and Linda Moran. Unfortunately that's all the information
we have on the movie but we'll make you sure to keep you updated. Expect the film to be

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Paris-based sales powerhouse Celluloid Dreams is
launching a new specialty label for high-end horror, can you guess what it is? Well Celluloid
"Nightmares" is billed as a showcase for "quality films that also deliver chills." The initial
lineup includes the recently signed English-language remake of Michael Haneke's FUNNY
GAMES, which will star Naomi Watts and be produced by Tartan films, Halcyon Pictures
and Celluloid Dreams.
"Other independent sellers have started these divisions, but in our
case the intention is to continue the quality and prestige that have always distinguished
Celluloid movies,"
said Celluloid Dreams chief Hengameh Panahi. "Haneke's remake will set
the bar."

In the original film two psychotic young men take a mother, father, and son hostage in
their vacation cabin and force them to play sadistic "games" with one another for their
own amusement.
