We received word that 20 Century Fox will be releasing the Americanized SHUTTER remake
on
March 21st of next year. If you have yet to see the original SHUTTER (review) then
we suggest that you do so. It's one of our favorite Asian horror flicks.
In Tokyo, a young
couple (Jackson and Taylor) on their honeymoon first begin to see ghostly images in their
photos. Written by Luke Dawson and directed by Masayuki Ochiai, the film stars Rachael
Taylor, Joshua Jackson, David Denman, James Kyson Lee
and John Hensley. To get you in

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Joshua Jackson is set to join Rachael Taylor in
Regency Enterprises' psychological thriller SHUTTER, which begins shooting March 12 in
Tokyo. In the movie a mysterious shadowy figure appears in photographers taken by a
camera. What it entails is both horrendous and shocking. Also joining the cast are David
Denman ("The Office"), James Kyson Lee ("Heroes") and John Hensley ("Nip/Tuck"). From
director Masayuki Ochiai, SHUTTER is a remake of a 2004 Thai film, centers on a young
American couple (Jackson and Taylor) on their honeymoon in Tokyo, who begin seeing
ghostly images in their photos as well as around them. Luke Dawson wrote the screenplay.
Vertigo Entertainment's Roy Lee and Doug Davison are producing with Takashige Ichise.
Alex Sundell is overseeing for Regency president of production Sanford Panitch.

20th Century Fox will distribute. Jackson now appears in "Bobby" and will next be seen in
Stuart Townsend's indie film "Battle in Seattle" starring Charlize Theron. He is repped by
WMA, Michael Bircumshaw of Waterstreet and attorney Steve Warren. Denman plays Roy,
Pam's on-again/off-again boyfriend on the hit NBC comedy "The Office." He can next be
seen in Miramax Films' "Smart People" and MGM's "Fan Boys." He's repped by APA and
Hofflund Palone. Lee plays Ando Masahashi in "Heroes." He's repped by the Geddes
Agency. Hensley plays Matt in "Nip/Tuck," and he next appears in Lionsgate's Sundance
pickup "Teeth." He's repped by the Gersh Agency.

When mentioned this before back when we announced the DVD release for SHUTTER in the
US. We told you that the Thai horror movie SHUTTER would also be getting the American
remake bath. We just decided to post up a page for it on our site. In this version, SHUTTER
tells the story of newlyweds on their honeymoon in Tokyo, Japan. They begin seeing
ghostly images around them and in their photographs. Set to direct is INFECTION director
Masayuki Ochiai, and will star Rachael Taylor, who had previously starred in SEE NO EVIL.
Also in talks is Erica Leerhsen who starred in the TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE Remake.
Its also set to be released in sometime in 2008. The original SHUTTER is up for pre-
ordering on
Amazon.com.
