Brad Anderson’s New Horror Movie ‘Blood’ Finds Its Way to Vertical Entertainment [Image]

Brad Anderson (Session 9, The machinist) is back with a psychological horror movie Bloodand Deadline today reports that Vertical Entertainment has picked up the North American rights.

Deadline notes in their report, “While the feature is streaming in both theaters and digital platforms, a release date has yet to be disclosed.”

Michelle Monaghan (“True Detective”) stars alongside Skeet Ulrich (Scream), Finlay Wojtak-Hissong, Rodrigo Beilfuss, Erik Athavale, June B. Wildeand Skylar MorganJones.

“The film follows Jess (Michelle Monaghan), a nurse and mother recently separated from her husband (Skeet Ulrich), who moves in with her daughter Tyler (Skylar Morgan Jones) and young son Owen (Finlay Wojtak-Hissong) to her old farmhouse. . Shortly after settling down, Owen’s dog escapes into the woods and returns days later, blood-soaked and enraged. When he attacks and bites Owen, the infection resulting from the bite becomes more alarming day by day as Owen’s behavior becomes frightening and deadly.

“As he sinks deeper into the depths of the disease, Jess discovers a disturbing cure, which has her wondering how far she’s willing to go to keep her child alive.”

“Brad Anderson has delivered the ultimate horror film with a cast, led by Monaghan and Ulrich, that delivers on every level,” said Vertical Entertainment partner Peter Jarowey. “We are thrilled to be back in business with Hercules Film Fund and Rhea Films and believe this holiday counter-programming will delight audiences long into the new year.”

The screenplay was written by Will Honley.

Producers include Paris Kassidokostas-Latsis, Terry Dougas, Gary Levinsohn and Billy Hines, with executive producers including Jean-Luc De Fanti, Alexis Varouxakis, Max Work, Steven Sims, Ryan Bartecki, Brad Anderson and Daniel Bekerman.
