Crazy Horror Movie on Netflix Rises to the Charts

A 2014 horror film titled Deliver us from evil currently rising in the charts with Netflix. Of course, that probably shouldn’t come as a surprise considering the director of the film. Scott Derrickson, who Marvel fans may recognize as the director of Doctor strange, actually directed the film. It should be noted, however, that he had major experience in the horror genre. For example, he also directed the hit films The Exorcism of Emily Rose and Sinister. He also produced a part of the Hellraiser franchise, Hellraiser: Inferno, which was his first feature film. Obviously, he’s a guy who knows his stuff, and this movie is proof of that.

Now, as reported via FlixPatrol, it looks like Netflix has seen an increase in its charts with Deliver us from evil. In particular, the film has jumped 35 spots on the streaming platform’s most watched list overnight as of this writing. These are pretty impressive numbers and prove that the film is still a hit with audiences. While he might not be as well-known as some of Scott Derrickson’s other horror works, it’s certainly proof that he’s a talented director in the genre.

What else, Deliver us from evil eventually gets pretty weird towards the end of the movie. While it’s not quite something that happens very often with horror movies these days, it’s proof that going gonzo can still turn fans on. Hopefully Netflix will start streaming even weirder or wackier underrated horror movies based on how successful its rankings are for titles like this.

Deliver us from evil was directed by Scott Derrickson from a screenplay he wrote with Paul Harris Boardman. The film itself was based on the non-fiction book Watch out at night by Ralph Sarchie and Lisa Collier Cool.

Meanwhile, the film’s cast also features some really big names. This includes Eric Bana, Edgar Ramirez, Olivia Munn, Sean Harris and more.
