Dramatic Poster Sets Stage For ‘Beast’ Premiere In August

The beast– a savage survival film from Universal Pictures which hits theaters on August 19 – unveiled a poster this week that shows what one man will do to protect his family from the terrors of the real world. Check out the poster — courtesy of collider.com — on this page.
Director Baltasar Kormakur’s thriller (Everest) and screenwriter Ryan Engle (Carnage) – stars Golden Globe Award winner Idris Elba, Iyana Halley, Leah Sava Jeffries, Sharlto Copley and Riley Keough.
In The beastrecently widowed Dr. Nate Daniels (Elba) returns to South Africa – where he first met his wife – on a trip with his daughters to a game reserve run by family friend Martin Battles (Copley).
But, according to the synopsis, “what begins as a journey of healing turns into a fearsome struggle for survival when a lion – a survivor of poachers who now considers all humans enemies – begins to stalk them.”
The beast— filmed in the Limpopo and North Cape provinces of Cape Town — is produced by Will Packer and James Lopez, with Jaime Primak Sullivan and Bernard Bellew serving as executive producers.
